Home made rendition with prawns, mussels, omelette strips and chicken strips.

Roast Lamb

Leg of lamb well marinated with rosemary and herbs, roasted till medium – still with a blush to it. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes before carving! 😀

Roast chicken stuffed with apricot and walnut (before roasting)

Self explanatory (= Bake for 45 minutes or till cooked (clear juice), paired with white corn on cob and butternut squash. I forgotten to take the after picture!

Strawberries salad with Halloumi

Butter lettuce and strawberries, tossed with self made dressing of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar (ratio of 3:1), and salt. Halloumi is a Cyprus cheese, very unique in texture and flavour and withstands heat very well. Instead of going melty and gooey like normal cheese, it maintains its texture and obtains a golden crust instead. Make sure you eat it while its hot because it squeaks when it gets cold :X It’s like eating nails clawing on board in your mouth. EEEKS.

Tray baked chicken with potatoes and tomatoes

Pan fry chicken, skin side down till golden brown. Add lots of fresh oregano and good pinch of salt. In a separate pot of salted boiling water, add potatoes and boil till soft. Tap each tomato with a small slit and throw in boiling water for 30 seconds. Remove. Pinch the skin off the tomatoes and throw everything into the pan with the chicken. The potatoes and tomatoes will soak all the chicken flavoured oregano oil. Yumm! Top it with a little olive oil so the flavour transmits easily into one another then bake it in the oven for a further 30-45 minutes so everything will cook into everything and the top gets crispy and golden.

Get the potato and tomatoes into a pile, and place a piece of chicken neatly on top. Pair it with a handful of watercress(or any other salad) tossed with extra virgin olive oil and lemon(3:1). Make sure theres enough zing to the watercress so that the lemon cuts through the oily chicken.


Eating healthy..tsk tsk. Slice up some tomatoes and give it a good pinch of salt. Leave it in a coriander and naturally you will see salted tomato juice flowing out. This leaves the tomato with a good concentrated and firmer tomato flavour/texture. Top it on some lettuce of your choice. You can add whatever you like of whatever you have at home, but I added crispy bacon bits and shaved cheese. You can add pine nuts, raisins, feta cheese, shredded chicken or whatsoever. Dressing is the same, 3 parts olive oil, 1 part acid(balsamic/red/white vinegar, orange, lemon…)

Double chocolate chip surprise muffin

All you need is butter, sugar, eggs, milk, yoghurt, vanilla, self raising flour and of course, chocolate. Common ingredients in household. I tweaked it a little by adding a spoonful of peanut butter inside each muffin. :mrgreen:

Chicken and watercress soup

Was going to call it herbal soup but theres nothing herbal about it )= Good for a cold rainy day though.

Bottom L-R: Mushrooms, dried scallops

Soak mushrooms overnight and trim off the ends of it. Give everything else a good rinse. In a pot of rapid boiling water, add chicken and everything else in it. Simmer for about 1 hour or as long as you can wait (=

Fresh oysters

Okay this one requires no cooking hehe. My colleague gave me a dozen…just serve with wedges of lemon and tabasco sauce.

  3. OMG the Sarawak Laksa looks SOOOOOO good…I’m stuck in UK eating British food everyday cos the Asian food in the canteen kinda sucks. Now its almost midnight and my stomach is rumbling…nooooo….
