Coffee Big No-No

Jay: I don’t know why but these few days when I go gym always feel like zzz-ing

Me: Grab a cup of coffee before gyming…

Jay: Yeah i should. I saw on BBC the atheletes do that too.

Kayla: And then we all see Jay get heart palpitations 😦

p/s Kayla’s getting married end of next year and she’s just asked me to be her bridesmaid/maid of honour 😯

Daylight Savings, You Like?

All states in Australia has got very different time zones. Some move their clocks forward earlier and some eventually has to wait an extra week before putting their clocks back again.

But for WA it started at 2am this morning.

Everyone’s saying that they’re missing an hour of everything.

1 hour less to study.

1 hour less to sleep.

1 hour less to get wasted.

1 hour less to do nothing.

Personally, I’ve got nothing against it but i would very much prefer to do without it. I’m more of the night person hence i don’t need more sunlight. 🙂

It’s 8pm now but it feels like 7pm (d’oh!)

But but but!!! The sun will rise an hour later tomorrow

So it’ll be 3am 30 March 2008 before we put our clocks back again. But sooner for those going home!

Meanwhile, dinner at 8.30pm yay.

I Hate Spring!

Whoever said spring is the best of the 4 seasons, is totally insane.

I hate spring!

I geared myself for winter with lip balms, moisturising lotion (2 different kinds), 24 hour moisturising cream and all sorts but I never used them. Ironically, my lips are starting to crack AFTER winter is over. The housemate is having the same problem too. Spring is worse than winter i tell you.

And when you take a stroll in the city, you see everyone flinching and waving their arms around frantically trying to get the flies off your mouth, nose and eyes – yes, they attack you for moisture. It’s not funny i tell you. Not funny at all.

So irritating can?

It can be freaking hot one moment and raining cats and dogs another. Hell, there’s a hailstorm as i’m typing this.

Spring = summer and winter in one day.

Despite the blooming flowers everywhere, I still hate spring.

I can’t even begin to imagine what summer would be like.

I wanna go home 😦

38 Things Unraveled – Edited

If you’ve read the previous post

I’ll have to change the answer for “Did you cry today?” to YES.

I’ve just finished watching Titanic, the movie from a decade ago. It’s still as awesome as i remembered it to be….if not better.

“I’m flying, Jack!”

And i literally cried my eyes out for the last 15 minutes or so. 😦

It will be another few decades before someone remakes it. But it would be hard to do one as good as this. Even today, the effects and all are brilliant. I’m reminded again why I once admired Leonardo di Caprio.

You jump, i jump. *sobs*

Finish crying already? Now you have to watch this. I laughed till i cried again.

Screen and Sound

Screen and Sound happens to be one of my current units.

Like the name itself suggests, it’s all gotta do with movies. Every week we watch a movie and then discuss it. Week 1 was Donnie Darko(Hi Lamomok!!), Week 2 was Run Lola Run and this week was Casablanca. Note to self: sleep earlier on Sunday nights so I won’t fall asleep during the movies.

Casablanca

Like almost all my other units, i’ve got this 2000 word essay due in a few weeks which carries a large percentage of my final grade – nearly half.

This is how it goes: I’ve got to choose a film out of a list of 12 top Australian films and comment on the narrative structure behind it. This list is totally different from the list we’re supposed to watch in class.

 This is the list:-

  1. Rabbit Proof Fence (2002)
  2. Australian Rules (2002)
  3. Romper Stomper (1992)
  4. Bad Boy Bubby (1993)
  5. Idiot Box (1996)
  6. The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994)
  7. Wolf Creek (2005)
  8. Picnic at the Hanging Rock (1975)
  9. The Castle (1997)
  10. Mad Max (1979)
  11. The Dish (2000)
  12. Lantana (2001)

Well, frankly, I’m not too keen on a romance or comedy genre. There’s not a lot to comment on(it has to be based on theories and stuff). And knowing me, horror is my absolute forte. There’s so much to write too. Like how this leads to another, all the gruesome effects and sound and all..

BUT!

To be able to do a good essay, I’ve gotta watch the movie at least 3 times(or so my lecturer says).

My point being…

I’m going to scare myself so many times(even though its the same movie)….

So how? I can’t decide…. :X

But I’ve only finish watching 3 out of 12 of the listed movies. Woot.

When people ask me what i’m doing, i say “Doing homework!”

And when they say “Oooh…what work?”

I can say “Watching movie!” without being the slightest bit guilty
